Our mission president, office staff and a member of the 70 and their wives were in Astana last week to work on getting the church recognized here in Astana. While the brothers were in meetings with the minister of religion, the sisters took a walking tour of the mall in Astana. At one end is the Khan Shatyr Mall which represents the past of Kazakhstan, in the middle is the Bayterek, a tower representing the present at the far end is a pyramid called the Temple of Peace and Reconciliation.
Every three years, they invite leaders from the world's religions to a conference discussing world peace.
