April 2016

April started off with a fun event.  We were able to attend the mission reunion on the Friday before conference.  It was held at the UVU Institute Building.  Seth came down from Logan and came with us.

It was wonderful to see so many of our dear mission friends along with President and Sister Rasmussen.

We enjoyed being together to watch April Conference.  Alan and Seth worked in Grandma's yard in between Saturday sessions.

We got some of the old bushes out of the planters and then we planted some flowers in their place.

On Sunday, we drove up to American Fork to have a meal with the family at Tyler's house between sessions.

We loved this photo of the new Primary Presidency

Reminded me of my friends in Japan!

We enjoyed being able to be in Utah to see the spring blossoms.

We also drove up to Idaho Falls to visit Nolan & Keree.  Dad was able to help with a few projects around their house.

Little E has a cute Minions jacket.  Another memorable event was that Miss H. let me pull out her baby tooth for her.  How did I forget to get a photo of that?!

Our next stop was Cache Valley!

We visited Seth and Aunt Vonda and we were so happy to hear that she found her rings that she had lost in December.  Scott and Jackie were there too.

And, of course, you have to get some Pepperidge Farm Cookies and Aggie Ice Cream!

It was a beautiful day!

Grandma was anxious for us to get back.  She had stayed at Scotts while we were in Idaho.  Craig had a hip replacement.  We visited him and then took Grandma back to Spanish Fork.  She has hurt her back, so she's been a bit uncomfortable too.

One day we decided to visit the new Provo City Center Temple.  After the session, this sister came up to me and asked if I was Sister Anderson (!)  Then I realized that it was Sister Carter.  We had never actually met in person before, but we have visited over skype several times.  The Carters served in Kazakhstan after us.  We returned to the US in November 2013.  They arrived in Almaty about that same time and were given the opportunity to finish distributing the wheelchairs we had begun in September.  It was such an unexpected surprise to be able to meet them in person!  And to catch up on the news about the work in Kazakhstan.  How in the world?

We were back in Arizona for the wedding of Karine's granddaughter Morgan at the Gilbert Temple.  It was a beautiful day.  This is two of my sisters and our sisters-in-law.  Love them!

And evening.  Then, we returned to Tucson to take care of some business.

Alan brought an old WWII gun that had been his father's for Sam.

Danno and I realized we were dressed the same!

Then, finally, the letter we've been waiting for arrived!  We have been called to the Korea Seoul Mission as office specialists.  We are to report to the MTC in Provo August 1st.

The temple is being constructed just down the street from our insurance agent's office.  It's going to be beautiful.

It's an amazing view of the city from up here.

Will's kids thought it was warm enough to go swimming, but I'd rather have a little more heat.  We had a beautiful spring this year.  Which is sadly pretty rare for us.  It usually gets hot too fast!

Our Karli is in the Vail Youth Symphony.  We enjoyed going to her concert.

March Madness 2016

Our neighboring Ward, Cienega had a great ward party March Cinco.  We decided it was a good time to go see some old friends.  Sam was asked to help with the decorations.  I caught him working on it.

He does amazing work!

Danno makes a great Pecos Bill!

When I showed this to Damon, he said "I was a girl?"

They had lots of food and fun activities:  Pony rides,

Mechanical Bull Riding,

A Dunk Tank for Bishop Merrill,

Roping,

Mutton Riding,

Chicken Catching (There goes Amber).  Karli actually caught one!

Chasing a greased pig.  Even though Dylan took a head start, he didn't get one. But Zack did!

We even got to see several friends from the old Midvale Ward too!

And, nobody got hurt!

They may have been the dirtiest kids in town!  But they had lots of fun.

We also got to attend the sealing of some friends at the Gilbert Temple.

We attended our grandson, Jacob's, volleyball game in Marana.

Heather & Nate and the three girls got some happy news, that a baby brother will join them this summer!  That will change everything!

Our Zyon turned 5 this month and had a fun Batman party.

We were at Heather's again on Easter.  Aren't these girls precious?

Then, we headed north to Utah.  We were happy to be able with our niece Krissa and her husband for their sealing at the Provo Temple.  Krissa wore her mother's wedding gown for the occasion!

While we were at the temple, we found our friend's daughter who has recently arrived at the MTC to prepare for her mission to the Philippines.

We have been (anxiously) waiting for our mission call to come, but nothing yet.  I finally decided to call headquarters and was told that we should receive it by the middle of April.  So stay tuned!
